Vielen Dank für Ihr Vertrauen in das AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3,5-5,6G IF-ED. DX Nikkor-Objektive sind

speziell für den Gebrauch mit Nikon Digital-SLR-Kameras (Nikon DX-Format) ausgelegt, wie etwa der Modelle der

D2-Serie sowie Modell D50.

Bei Anbringen an Kameras im Nikon DX-Format entspricht der Bildwinkel des Objektivs ca. dem 1,5-Fachen der

Brennweite im 35-mm-Format. Machen Sie sich bitte vor dem Einsatz dieses Objektivs mit dem Inhalt dieser

Bedienungsanleitung und den Hinweisen für sicheren Betrieb vertraut.

Hinweise für sicheren Betrieb

ACHTUNG

Keinesfalls zerlegen.

Beim Berühren der Innenteile von Kamera oder Objektiv droht Verletzungsgefahr. Überlassen Sie Reparaturen

unbedingt ausschließlich qualifizierten Technikern. Kommt es durch einen heftigen Stoß (z. B. Fall auf den Boden)

zu einem Bruch von Kamera oder Objektiv, so trennen Sie zunächst das Produkt vom Stromnetz bzw. entnehmen

die Batterie(n) und geben es dann an eine autorisierte Nikon-Servicestelle zur Überprüfung ab.

Bei einer Störung sofort die Stromversorgung ausschalten.

Bei Entwicklung von Rauch oder ungewöhnlichem Geruch durch Kamera oder Objektiv entnehmen Sie sofort die

Batterie(n); dabei vorsichtig vorgehen, denn es besteht Verbrennungsgefahr. Bei einem Weiterbetrieb unter diesen

Umständen droht Verletzungsgefahr. Nach dem Abtrennen von der Stromversorgung geben Sie das Gerät an eine

autorisierte Nikon-Servicestelle zur Überprüfung ab.

Kamera oder Objektiv keinesfalls bei Vorhandensein von brennbarem Gas einsetzen.

Wird elektronisches Gerät bei brennbarem Gas betrieben, so droht u. U. Explosions- oder Brandgefahr.

Keinesfalls durch Objektiv oder Sucher in die Sonne blicken.

Beim Betrachten der Sonne oder anderer starker Lichtquellen durch Objektiv oder Sucher droht eine permanente

Schädigung des Sehvermögens.

Dem Zugriff von Kindern entziehen.

Es ist unbedingt dafür zu sorgen, dass Kleinkinder keine Batterien oder andere kleine Teile in den Mund nehmen

können.

Beim Umgang mit Kamera und Objektiv unbedingt die folgenden Vorsichtmaßnahmen

beachten:

• Halten Sie Kamera oder Objektiv stets trocken. Andernfalls droht Brand- oder Stromschlaggefahr.

• Handhaben oder berühren Sie die Komponente keinesfalls mit nassen Händen. Andernfalls droht

Stromschlaggefahr.

• Vor einem längeren Nichtgebrauch des Objektivs bringen Sie den vorderen und hinteren Deckel an und

bewahren das Objektiv geschützt vor direkter Sonnenlichteinwirkung auf. Andernfalls droht Brandgefahr wegen

möglicher Fokussierung von Sonnenlicht durch die Linse auf Gegenstände.

Hauptmerkmale

• Der Silent Wave Motor im Objektiv steuert den Fokussiermechanismus und sorgt so für stufenlosen, leisen und

praktisch verzögerungsfreien Autofokus-Betrieb. Der Fokus-Modusschalter (A-M) dient zur einfachen Wahl von

Autofokus (A) oder manueller Scharfeinstellung (M).

• Eine präzisere Belichtungssteuerung ist möglich, wenn das Objektiv an eine Nikon-Kamera angebracht wird, denn

die Objektdistanzdaten werden vom Objektiv zum Kameragehäuse übertragen.

• Der Einsatz zweier asphärischer und einer ED-Linsen (mit besonders geringer Dispersion) gewährleistet scharfe,

nahezu farbsaumfreie Bilder. Sieben Blendenlamellen sorgen für eine nahezu kreisrunde Blendenöffnung, so daß

außerhalb des Schärfenbereichs vor und hinter dem Motiv liegende Elemente in ansprechende Unschärfe getaucht

werden.

Anbringen des Objektivs (Siehe hierzu die Bedienungsanleitung der Kamera.)

Schalten Sie die Stromversorgung der Kamera aus.

Nehmen Sie den hinteren Objektivdeckel ab. (Abb. D)

Fluchten Sie die Montage-Markierungen an Objektiv und Kameragehäuse und drehen Sie das Objektiv entgegen

dem Uhrzeigersinn, bis es hörbar einrastet. Sorgen Sie unbedingt dafür, dass sich die Montage-Markierung ganz

oben befindet.

Nehmen Sie den vorderen Objektivdeckel ab. (Abb. C)

Abnehmen des Objektivs (Siehe hierzu die Bedienungsanleitung der Kamera.)

Beim Abnehmen des Objektivs muss die Kamera unbedingt ausgeschaltet sein. Halten Sie die Objektiv-Freigabetaste

gedrückt und drehen Sie das Objektiv im Uhrzeigersinn.

Verwendung der Gegenlichtblende HB-32 mit Bajonettfassung (Abb. B)

 Anbringen der Gegenlichtblende

Richten Sie die Montagemarkierungen an Objektiv 4 und Gegenlichtblende ( ) 2 aneinander aus und drehen

Sie die Gegenlichtblende 1 im Uhrzeigersinn, bis sie hörbar einrastet.

• Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Kontrollmarkierung (

) 3 mit der Montagemarkierung am Objektiv 4 fluchtet.

• Wenn die Gegenlichtblende falsch angebracht ist, kann es zu Vignettierung (Abschattungen an den Bildrändern)

kommen.

• Halten Sie die Gegenlichtblende zum Anbringen oder Abnehmen an ihrer Basis fest, nicht am vorderen Rand.

• Die Gegenlichtblende kann zum Verstauen in umgekehrter Position an das Objektiv angesetzt werden.

 Abnehmen der Gegenlichtblende

Halten Sie die Gegenlichtblende an der Basis (nahe der Montagemarkierung) und drehen Sie sie gegen den

Uhrzeigersinn.

Scharfeinstellung, Zoomen und Schärfentiefe

Vor der Scharfeinstellung verstellen Sie mit dem Zoomring 5 die Brennweite

so weit, bis die gewünschte Bildkomposition im Sucher dargestellt ist. Drehen

Sie den Brennweitenring im Uhrzeigersinn (gesehen von der Kameraseite

aus), um Teleaufnahmen zu machen, und entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn für

Weitwinkelaufnahmen. Hat Ihre Kamera eine Taste oder einen Hebel für Schärfentiefe-

Voransicht (Abblenden), so lässt sich die Schärfentiefe beim Blicken durch den

Kamerasucher beurteilen. Näheres hierzu finden Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung der

Kamera.

Aufgrund der optischen Eigenschaften dieses Objektivs ergibt sich bei Nahfokussierung

eine Verringerung der Brennweite.

Scharfeinstellung (Abb. A)

 Autofokus-Modus: Stellen Sie die Kamera auf Autofokus-Modus AF-A, AF-S oder AF-C ein und den Fokus-

Modusschalter A-M “ auf A. Aktivieren Sie zunächst den Autofokus durch Antippen des Auslösers und machen Sie

dann die Aufnahme durch Drücken bis zum Anschlag.

Manuelle Scharfeinstellung ist möglich, auch wenn der Fokus-Modusschalter A-M am Objektiv auf A steht.

Stellen Sie den Autofokus-Modus der Kamera auf AF-S und sorgen Sie durch Antippen des Auslösers für

automatische Scharfeinstellung des Motivs. Halten Sie dann den Auslöser ganz gedrückt und drehen Sie den

Einstellring mit der Hand zum Feinfokussieren.

Hinweis: Drehen Sie keinesfalls den Einstellring mit der Hand, während der Autofokus arbeitet. Bei einem Fehler

geben Sie den Auslöser frei und tippen ihn dann wieder an.

 Manuelle Scharfeinstellung: Stellen Sie den Fokus-Modusschalter A-M “ auf M. Drehen Sie den Einstellring

8 mit der Hand zum Fokussieren. Aufnahmen sind möglich, wenn der Autofokus-Modus der Kamera auf AF oder M

eingestellt ist.

Blendeneinstellung

Stellen Sie die Blende an der Kamera ein.

Variable maximale Blenden

Durch Zoomen des Objektivs von 18 bis 135 mm wird die maximale Blende um 1-1/3 Stufe a/jointfilesconvert/1500275/bgeblendet. Dies spielt

für eine korrekte Belichtung jedoch keine Rolle, weil die Kamera automatisch jede Verstellung kompensiert.

Blitzaufnahmen mit Kameras mit eingebautem Blitz

Unter Vignettierung versteht man die Abdunkelung der Bildecken, wenn das Blitzlicht von der Gegenlichtblende oder,

je nach Brennweite oder Aufnahmedistanz, vom Objektivtubus verdeckt wird.

• Soll Vignettierung vermieden werden, so verwenden Sie einfach keine Gegenlichtblende.

• Aufnahmen aus Entfernungen unter 0,6 m mit dem eingebauten Kamerablitz sind nicht möglich.

Der eingebaute Blitz bei D100 und D70 eignet sich für eine Brennweite von 20 mm oder darüber. Vignettierung tritt

bei einer Brennweite von 18 mm auf.

Pflege des Objektivs

• Halten Sie die CPU-Kontakte ! peinlich sauber, und schützen Sie sie vor Beschädigung!

• Säubern Sie Glasflächen mit einem Blasepinsel. Staub und Flecken entfernen Sie mit einem sauberen, weichen

Baumwolltuch oder Optik-Reinigungspapier, das Sie mit éthanol (Alkohol) oder Optik-Reinigungsflüssigkeit

anfeuchten. Wischen Sie in kreisförmigen Bewegungen von der Mitte nach außen, ohne daß Wischspuren

zurückbleiben.

• Verwenden Sie keinesfalls Verdünnung oder Benzin zur Reinigung, da dieses zu Beschädigungen führen,

Gesundheitsschäden verursachen oder ein Feuer auslösen könnte.

• Zum Schutz der Vorderlinse ist ein Filter NC erhältlich. Die Gegenlichtblende

1 wirkt als zusätzlicher

Frontlinsenschutz.

• Beim Verstauen des Objektivs in seinem flexiblen Etui müssen vorderer und hinterer Deckel aufgesetzt sein. Das

Objektiv lässt sich auch dann verstauen, wenn die die Gegenlichtblende 1 in der umgekehrten Position angebracht

ist.

• Halten Sie die Kamera nicht an der Gegenlichtblende, wenn das Objektiv an der Kamera angebracht ist.

• Bei längerer Nichtbenutzung sollte das Objektiv an einem kühlen, trockenen Ort aufbewahrt werden. Halten Sie

das Objektiv von direkter Sonneneinstrahlung oder Chemikalien wie Kampfer oder Naphthalin fern.

• Halten Sie das Objektiv von Wasser fern, das zur Korrosion und zu Betriebsstörungen führen kann.

• Einige Teile des Objektivs bestehen aus verstärktem Kunststoff. Lassen Sie das Objektiv deshalb nie an übermäßig

heißen Orten zurück!

Nikkor DX sont conçus spécialement pour une utilisation avec les reflex numériques (format DX Nikon), telles

les séries D2 et D50.

Lorsqu’il est monté sur des appareils au format DX Nikon, l’angle d’image de l’objectif est environ équivalent à

1,5x la focale au format 35mm. Avant d’utiliser cet objectif, veuillez lire ces instructions et les remarques sur

les utilisations en toute sécurité.

Remarques concernant une utilisation en toute sécurité

ATTENTION

Ne pas démonter

Le fait de toucher aux pièces internes de l’appareil ou aux lentilles pourrait entraîner des blessures. Les réparations

doivent être effectuées par des techniciens qualifiés. Si l’appareil ou l’objectif est cassé suite à une chute ou un autre

accident, apportez le produit dans un centre de service agréé Nikon pour le faire vérifier après avoir débranché le produit

et retiré les piles.

En cas de dysfonctionnement, éteignez immédiatement

Si vous remarquez de la fumée ou une odeur inhabituelle se dégageant de l’appareil photo ou de l’objectif, retirez

immédiatement les piles, en prenant soin de ne pas vous brûler. Continuer d’utiliser son matériel peut entraîner des

blessures. Après avoir retiré ou débranché la source d’alimentation, confiez votre matériel à un centre de service agréé

Nikon pour le faire vérifier.

N’utilisez pas l’appareil photo ou l’objectif en présence de gaz inflammable

N’utilisez pas de matériel électronique en présence de gaz inflammable car cela risque de provoquer une explosion ou un

incendie.

Ne regardez pas le soleil dans l’objectif ou le viseur

Regarder le soleil ou tout autre source lumineuse violente dans l’objectif ou le viseur peut provoquer de graves lésions

oculaires irréversibles.

Tenir hors de portée des enfants

Faites extrêmement attention à ce que les enfants ne mettent pas à la bouche les piles ou d’autres petites pièces.

Observez les précautions suivantes lorsque vous manipulez l’appareil et l’objectif

• Maintenez l’appareil et l’objectif au sec. Le non-respect de cette précaution peut provoquer un incendie ou une

électrocution.

• Ne manipulez pas et ne touchez pas l’appareil avec les mains humides. Le non-respect de cette précaution peut

provoquer une électrocution.

• Lorsque vous n’utilisez pas l’objectif pendant une longue période, fixez les capuchons avant et arrière et rangez

l’objectif à l’abris de la lumière directe du soleil. Le non-respect de cette précaution peut provoquer un incendie, car

l’objectif peut concentrer la lumière du soleil sur un objet.

Principales caractéristiques

• Cet objectif utilise un moteur à ondes silencieux pour entraîner le mécanisme de mise au point, permettant un

autofocus régulier, silencieux et presque instantané. Le commutateur de mode A-M sert à sélectionner facilement

les modes autofocus (A) et mise au point manuelle (M).

• Un contrôle d’exposition plus précis est possible quand cet objectif est monté sur un appareil Nikon, parce que

l’information de distance au sujet est transférée de l’objectif au boîtier.

• L’utilisation de deux éléments asphérisque et d’un élément ED (dispersion extra basse) assure des images nettes

virtuellement exemptes de frangeage couleur. Et l’emploi d’un diaphragme à 7 lames produisant une ouverture

quasi circulaire estompe agréablement les images floues à l’avant ou à l’arrière du sujet.

Fixation de l’objectif (Reportez-vous au manuel d’instructions.)

Eteignez l’appareil photo.

Otez le capuchon d’objectif arrière. (Fig. D)

En maintenant l’index de montage de l’objectif aligné avec le repère de montage du boîtier, tournez l’objectif

dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à ce qu’il se mette en place avec un déclic. Assurez-vous

que l’index de montage est dirigé vers le haut.

Otez le capuchon d’objectif avant. (Fig. C)

Démontage de l’objectif (Reportez-vous au manuel d’instructions.)

Assurez-vous d’éteindre l’appareil photo lorsque vous ôtez l’objectif. Appuyez sur le bouton de libération de l’objectif

et maintenez-le enfoncé tout en tournant l’objectif dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre.

Utilisation du parasoleil HB-32 (Fig. B)

 Fixation du parasoleil

Alignez le repère de fixation ( ) 2 situé sur le parasoleil (l’un des deux repères) avec le repère de montage 4

situé sur l’objectif, puis tournez le parasoleil 1 dans le sens horaire jusqu’au déclic d’arrêt pour le bloquer.

• Vérifiez que le repère de montage 4 est bien aligné avec le repère de réglage du parasoleil ( ) 3.

• Si le parasoleil n’est pas correctement fixé, on assiste à un effet de vignetage.

• Il vous sera plus facile de fixer ou de retirer le parasoleil si vous le tenez par la base (aux environs du repère de

fixation) et non par le bord extérieur.

• Avant de ranger l’objectif, fixez le parasoleil à l’envers.

 Démontage du parasoleil

Tout en maintenant la base du parasoleil (aux environs du repère de fixation) plutôt que le bord extérieur, tournez-le

dans le sens anti-horaire pour le démonter.

Mise au point, cadrage au zoom et profondeur de champ

Avant de mettre au point, tournez la bague de zoom 5 pour changer la focale jusqu’à

ce que la composition souhaitée soit cadrée dans le viseur. Tournez la bague de zoom

dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre, vu du côté de l’appareil, pour prendre des

photos au téléobjectif et dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre pour prendre

des photos grand-angle. Si votre appareil dispose d’un bouton ou d’un levier de

prévisualisation du champ (ouverture réelle), vous pouvez observer la profondeur du

champ en regardant à travers le viseur de l’appareil. Voyez le manuel d’utilisation de

votre boîtier pour plus de détails.

A cause des caractéristiques optiques de cet objectif, la focale diminue en faisant une

mise au point plus rapprochée.

Mise au point (Fig. A)

 Mode autofocus: Réglez le mode de mise au point de l’appareil sur AF-A, AF-S ou AF-C et le commutateur de

mode A-M de l’objectif “ sur A. Pressez légèrement le déclencheur pour activer l’autofocus, puis appuyez à fond pour

prendre un cliché.

La mise au point manuelle est possible même lorsque le commutateur de mode A-M de l’objectif est réglé

sur A

Réglez le mode de mise au point de l’appareil sur AF-S, mettez au point automatiquement sur le sujet en pressant

légèrement le déclencheur. Ensuite, tout en maintenant le déclencheur enfoncé, tournez manuellement la bague

de mise au point pour une mise au point précise.

Remarque: Ne tournez pas manuellement la bague de mise au point lorsque l’autofocus est en marche. Si une

erreur survient, relâchez le déclencheur et pressez-le de nouveau légèrement.

 Mode de mise au point manuelle: Réglez le commutateur de mode A-M de l’objectif “ sur M. Tournez

manuellement la bague de mise au point 8 pour mettre au point. La prise de vue est possible lorsque le mode de

mise au point de l’appareil est réglé soit sur AF soit sur M.

Réglage de l’ouverture

Réglez l’ouverture sur le boîtier.

Ouvertures maximales variables

Le fait de zoomer avec l’objectif de 18mm à 135mm diminue l’ouverture maximale de 1-1/3 de valeur. Cependant,

il n’est pas nécessaire d’ajuster l’ouverture pour une exposition correcte car l’appareil compense automatiquement

cette variation.

Photographie au flash avec des appareils ayant un flash intégré

Le vignettage est l’assombrissement des coins de l’image qui se produit lorsque la lumière émise par le flash est retenue

par le parasoleil, ou la monture de l’objectif en fonction de la focale ou de la distance de prise de vue.

• Pour éviter le vignettage, n’utilisez pas le parasoleil.

• Il n’est pas possible de prendre des photos à des distances inférieures à 0,6 m en utilisant le flash intégré de

l’appareil.

Les flashs intégrés des D100 et D70 conviennent pour une focale de 20mm et plus. Le vignettage se produit à une

focale de 18mm.

Soin de l’objectif

• Veiller à ne pas salir ni endommager les contacts CPU !.

• Nettoyer la surface de l’objectif avec un pinceau soufflant. Pour enlever les poussières ou les traces, utiliser de

préférence un tissu de coton doux, ou un tissu optique, légèrement humidifié avec de l’alcool éthylique (éthanol).

Essuyer en mouvement circulaire partant du centre.

• Ne jamais employer de solvant ou de benzènes qui pourrait endommager l’objectif, prendre feu ou nuire à la santé.

• Pour protéger la lentille de l’objectif un filtre NC est disponible. Un paresoleil

1 assure également une bonne

protection contre les chocs.

• Lorsque vous rangez l’objectif dans son sac souple, fixez les deux capuchons avant et arrière de l’objectif. L’objectif

peut aussi être rangé lorsque le paresoleil 1 est fixé en position inversée.

• Ne tenez pas le paresoleil lorsque l’objectif est fixé sur l’appareil.

• En cas d’inutilisation pour une longue période, entreposer le matériel dans un endroit frais, sec et aéré pour éviter les

moisissures. Tenir le matériel éloigné des sources de lumière, et des produits chimiques (camphre, naphtaline, etc.).

• Eviter les projections d’eau ainsi que l’immersion, qui peut provoquer la rouille et des dommages irréparables.

• Divers matériaux de synthèse sont utilisés dans la fabrication. Pour éviter tout problème, ne pas soumettre

l’objectif à de fortes chaleurs.

Notes on using wide or super-wide angle AF Nikkor lenses

In the following situations, autofocus may not work properly when taking pictures using wide or super-wide

angle AF Nikkor lenses.

1. When the main subject in the focus brackets is relatively small.

As shown in Fig. E, when a person standing in front of a distant background is placed within the focus

brackets, the background may be in focus, while the subject is out of focus.

2. When the main subject is a small, patterned subject or scene.

As shown in Fig. F, when the subject is highly patterned or of low contrast, such as a field covered with

flowers, autofocus may be difficult to obtain.

In such situations:

(1) Focus on a different subject located at the same distance from the camera, then use the focus lock,

recompose, and shoot.

(2) Or set the camera’s focus mode selector to M (manual) and focus manually on the subject.

Hinweise zum Gebrauch von AF Nikkor-Weitwinkel- oder

Super-Weitwinkelobjektiven

In den folgenden Fällen arbeitet der Autofokus bei der Aufnahme von Bildern mit AF Nikkor-Weitwinkel- oder

Super-Weitwinkelobjektiven u.U. nicht einwandfrei.

1. Hauptmotiv in den Fokusklammern relativ klein

Wie Abb. E zeigt, ist Folgendes möglich: bei Platzieren einer Person vor einem weit entfernten

Hintergrund in den Fokusklammen wird unter Umständen der Hintergrund scharf eingestellt, das

eigentliche Motiv dagegen aber nicht.

2. Kleine strukturierte Fläche oder Szene als Hauptmotiv

Wie aus Abb. F ersichtlich, ist bei Motiven mit ausgeprägter Strukturierung oder geringem Kontrast (z.B.

eine blumenübersäte Wiese) u.U. die Scharfeinstellung per Autofokus schwierig.

In solchen Fällen:

(1) Fokussieren Sie zunächst auf ein anderes Motiv im selben Abstand von der Kamera, wählen dann bei

Fokussperre erneut den Bildausschnitt und machen so die Aufnahme.

(2) Oder Sie stellen den Fokussiermoduswähler an der Kamera auf M (manuell) und nehmen die

Scharfeinstellung des Motivs manuell vor.

Remarques sur l’emploi des objectifs grand-angle ou super grand-angle AF Nikkor

Dans les situations suivantes, la mise au point automatique peut ne pas fonctionner correctement lors de la

prise de vue avec des objectifs grand-angle ou super grand-angle Nikkor.

1. Quand le sujet principal dans les repères de mise au point est relativement petit.

Comme indiqué sur la Fig. E, quand une personne debout sur un fond éloigné est placée dans les repères

de mise au point, le fond peut être net, alors que le sujet est flou.

2. Quand le sujet principal est une scène ou un sujet petits, à motifs.

Comme indiqué sur la Fig. F, quand le sujet a des motifs importants ou est à faible contraste par exemple

un champ couvert de fleurs, la mise au point automatique peut être difficile à obtenir.

Dans de telles situations:

(1) Mettez au point sur un autre sujet équidistant de l’appareil, puis utilisez la mémorisation de la mise

au point, recomposez et déclenchez.

(2) Ou réglez le sélecteur de mode de mise au point de l’appareil sur M (manuel) et mettez au point

Thank you for purchasing the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED. DX Nikkor lenses are

specially designed for use with Nikon digital SLR (Nikon DX format) cameras, such as the D2-Series and

D50. When mounted on Nikon DX format cameras, the lens’ picture angle is equivalent to approx. 1.5x

focal length in 35mm format. Before using this lens, please read these instructions and the Notes on Safety

Operations.

Major features

• This lens employs a Silent Wave Motor to drive the focusing mechanism, making autofocusing smooth, silent

and almost instantaneous. The A-M mode switch is provided to easily select autofocus (A) or manual focus (M)

operations.

• More accurate exposure control is possible when this is mounted on a Nikon camera because subject distance

information is transferred from the lens to the camera body.

• The use of two aspherical and one ED (extra-low dispersion) lens elements ensures sharp pictures virtually free of

color fringing. Also, by utilizing a 7-blade diaphragm that produces a nearly circular aperture, out-of-focus images

in front of or behind the subject are rendered as pleasing blurs.

Mounting the lens (Refer to your camera instruction manual.)

Turn the camera off.

Remove the rear lens cap. (Fig. D)

Keeping the mounting index on the lens aligned with the mounting mark on the camera body, rotate the lens

counterclockwise until it clicks into place. Make sure that the mounting index is at the uppermost side.

Remove the front lens cap. (Fig. C)

Detaching the lens (Refer to your camera instruction manual.)

Be sure to turn the camera off when removing the lens. Press and hold the lens-release button while turning the lens

clockwise to detach.

Using bayonet hood HB-32 (Fig. B)

 Attaching the hood

Align the lens hood attachment index ( ) 2 on the hood (either one of the two indexes) with the lens hood

mounting index 4 on the lens, and turn the lens hood 1 clockwise until it click stops to secure.

• Make sure that the lens hood mounting index

4 aligns with the lens hood setting index ( ) 3.

• If the lens hood is not correctly attached, vignetting can occur.

• To facilitate attachment or removal of the hood, hold it by its base (around the lens hood attachment index) rather

than its outer edge.

• To store the lens hood, attach it in the reverse position.

 Detaching the hood

While holding the base of the hood (near the lens hood attachment index) rather than its outer edge, turn it

counterclockwise to detach.

Focusing, zooming, and depth of field

Before focusing, turn the zoom ring 5 to change the focal length until the desired

composition is framed in the viewfinder. Turn the zoom ring clockwise as viewed from

the camera side to take telephoto pictures and counterclockwise to take wide-angle

pictures. If your camera has a depth of field preview (stop-down) button or lever,

depth of field can be observed while looking through the camera viewfinder. See the

instruction manual of your camera body for more details.

Due to the optical characteristics of this lens, as the lens is focused closer, the focal

length decreases.

Focusing (Fig. A)

 Autofocus mode: Set the camera’s focus mode to AF-A, AF-S or AF-C and set the lens’ A-M mode switch “ to A.

Lightly press the shutter release button to activate the autofocus, then fully depress the button to shoot.

Manual focusing is possible even when the lens’ A-M mode switch is set to A

Set the camera’s focus mode to AF-S, focus on the subject automatically by lightly pressing the shutter release

button. Next, while holding down the shutter release button, manually rotate the lens’ focus ring to fine-tune

focusing.

Note: Do not manually turn the focus ring while autofocus is in operation. If an error occurs, release and again

lightly press the shutter release button.

 Manual focus mode: Set the lens’ A-M mode switch “ to M. Turn the focus ring 8 manually to focus. Shooting

is possible when camera’s focus mode is set to either AF or M.

Setting the aperture

Set the aperture on the camera body.

Variable maximum apertures

Zooming the lens from 18mm to 135mm decreases the maximum aperture by 1-1/3 of an f/stop.

However, there is no need to adjust the aperture for correct exposures because the camera automatically

compensates for this variation.

Taking flash pictures using cameras with a built-in flash

Vignetting is the darkening of the corners around the image that occurs when the light emitted from the flash is

obstructed by the lens hood, or lens barrel depending on the focal length or shooting distance.

• To prevent vignetting, do not use the lens hood.

• It is not possible to shoot at distances shorter than 0.6m (2.0 ft.) using the camera’s built-in flash.

The built-in flashes of the D100 and D70 are suited to a focal length of 20mm or over. Vignetting occurs at a focal

length of 18mm.

Lens care

• Be careful not to soil or damage the CPU contacts !.

• Clean the lens surfaces with a blower brush. To remove dirt and smudges, use a soft, clean cotton cloth or lens

tissue moistened with ethanol (alcohol) or lens cleaner. Wipe in a circular motion from center to outer edge, taking

care not to leave traces or touch other parts of the lens.

• Never use thinner or benzene to clean the lens, as this might damage it, result in a fire or cause health problems.

• To protect the front lens element, an NC filter is available. A lens hood

1 also helps protect the front of the lens.

• When storing the lens in its flexible lens pouch, attach both the front and rear lens caps. The lens can also be

stored when the lens hood 1 is attached in the reverse position.

• Do not hold the lens hood while the lens is attached to a camera.

• When the lens will not be used for a long time, store it in a cool, dry place to prevent mold.

Also store the lens away from direct sunlight or chemicals such as camphor or naphthalene.

• Do not get water on the lens or drop it in water as this will cause it to rust and malfunction.

• Reinforced plastic is used for certain parts of the lens. To avoid damage, never leave the lens in an excessively hot

place.

Notes on Safety Operations

CAUTION

Do not disassemble

Touching the internal parts of the camera or lens could result in injury. Repairs should be performed only

by qualified technicians. Should the camera or lens break open as the result of a fall or other accident, take

the product to a Nikon-authorized service representative for inspection after unplugging the product and/or

removing the battery.

Turn off immediately in the event of malfunction

Should you notice smoke or an unusual smell coming from the camera or lens, remove the battery immediately,

taking care to avoid burns. Continued operation could result in injury.

After removing or disconnecting the power source, take the equipment to a Nikon authorized service

representative for inspection.

Do not use the camera or lens in the presence of flammable gas

If the electronic equipment is operated in the presence of flammable gas, it could result in an explosion or a fire.

Do not look at the sun through the lens or viewfinder

Viewing the sun or other strong light sources through the lens or viewfinder could cause permanent visual

impairment.

Keep out of reach of children

Particular care should be taken to prevent infants from putting the batteries or other small parts into their

mouths.

Observe the following precautions when handling the camera and lens

• Keep the camera or lens unit dry. Failure to do so could result in a fire or electric shock.

• Do not handle or touch the unit with wet hands. Failure to do so could result in electric shock.

• When the lens will not be used for a long time, attach both front and rear lens caps and store the lens away

from direct sunlight. Failure to do so could result in a fire, as the lens might focus sunlight onto an object.

Pri fotografiranju s širokokotnimi objektivi AF Nikkor v spodaj navedenih okoliščinah samodejno ostrenje morda ne bo delovalo pravilno.

1. Kadar je glavni motiv v okvirjih za izostritev relativno majhen.

Kot kaže sl. E: kadar je v okvirje za izostritev zajeta oseba, ki stoji pred oddaljenim ozadjem, se lahko namesto glavnega motiva izostri

ozadje.

2. Kadar je glavni motiv majhen in vzorčast.

Zahvaljujemo se vam za nakup objektiva AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18–135 mm f/3,5–5,6G IF-ED. Objektivi DX Nikkor so zasnovani posebej za

uporabo z Nikonovimi zrcalno-refleksnimi digitalnimi fotoaparati (formata Nikon DX), kot sta seriji D2 in D50. Ko ga namestite na fotoaparat

Namestitev objektiva (Glejte navodila za uporabo fotoaparata.)

Izklopite fotoaparat..

Odstranite zadnji pokrovček objektiva. (Sl. D)

Poravnajte oznako za namestitev na objektivu z oznako za namestitev na ohišju fotoaparata in zasučite objektiv v nasprotni smeri urnega kazalca,

da se zaskoči. Oznaka za namestitev objektiva mora biti na zgornji strani.

Odstranite sprednji pokrovček objektiva. (Sl. C)

Odstranitev objektiva (Glejte navodila za uporabo fotoaparata.)

Preden odstranite objektiv, izklopite fotoaparat. Pritisnite in držite gumb za sprostitev objektiva ter odstranite objektiv, tako da ga zasučete v smeri

urnega kazalca.

Uporaba bajonetne sončne zaslonke HB-32 (Sl. B)

 Namestitev sončne zaslonke

Oznako za namestitev sončne zaslonke ( ) 2 na zaslonki (eno od obeh oznak) poravnajte z oznako za namestitev sončne zaslonke 4 na

objektivu in zasučite zaslonko 1 v smeri urnega kazalca, da se varno zaskoči.

• Oznaka za namestitev sončne zaslonke 4 mora biti poravnana z oznako za namestitev na objektivu ( ) 3.

• Če sončna zaslonka ni pravilno nameščena, lahko pride do vinjetiranja.

• Pri namestitvi in odstranitvi sončno zaslonko primite za spodnji del (okoli oznake za namestitev sončne zaslonke) in ne za zunanji rob.

• Sončno zaslonko shranite, tako da jo namestite narobe obrnjeno.

 Odstranitev sončne zaslonke

Sončno zaslonko primite za spodnji del (poleg oznake za namestitev) in ne za zunanji rob ter jo odstranite, tako da jo obrnete v nasprotni smeri urnega

kazalca.

Ostrenje, zoom in globina polja

Pred ostrenjem obrnite obroček za zoom 5 in spremenite goriščno razdaljo, tako da v iskalu vidite želeno

kompozicijo. Za snemanje slik telefoto obrnite obroček za zoom v smeri urnega kazalca (gledano iz smeri

fotoaparata), za snemanje širokokotnih slik pa v nasprotni smeri urnega kazalca. Če ima fotoaparat gumb ali

ročico za predogled globine polja (stopenj), lahko pri gledanju skozi iskalo fotoaparata vidite globino polja. Za

podrobnejše informacije glejte navodila za uporabo fotoaparata.

Zaradi optičnih značilnosti tega objektiva se goriščna razdalja zmanjša, ko povečate sliko.

Ostrenje (Sl. A)

 Način samodejnega ostrenja: Način ostrenja fotoaparata nastavite na AF-A, AF-S ali AF-C, stikalo za

izbiro načina A-M na objektivu “ na A. Z rahlim pritiskom sprožilca aktivirate samodejno ostrenje, s pritiskom do konca pa fotografirate.

Ročno ostrenje je mogoče, tudi če je stikalo za izbiro načina A-M na objektivu nastavljeno na A.

Na fotoaparatu nastavite način ostrenja na AF-S in samodejno izostrite sliko, tako da rahlo pritisnete sprožilec. Medtem ko pritiskate sprožilec,

natančno prilagodite izostritev, tako da ročno obračate obroček za izostritev na objektivu.

Opomba: Medtem ko poteka samodejno ostrenje, ne poskušajte ročno obračati obročka za izostritev. Če pride do napake, spustite sprožilec in ga

ponovno rahlo pritisnite.

 Način ročnega ostrenja: Nastavite stikalo za izbiro način A-M na objektivu “ na M. Izostrite sliko, tako da ročno obračate obroček za izostritev

Spremenljive največje zaslonke

Če zoom objektiva spremenite z 18 mm na 135 mm, se največja zaslonka zmanjša za 1–1/3 koraka števila f/.

Da bi dosegli ustrezno osvetlitev, ni treba spremeniti zaslonke, saj fotoaparat samodejno izravna to spremembo.

Fotografiranje z bliskavico s fotoaparatom z vgrajeno bliskavico

Vinjetiranje je potemnitev kotov slike, do katere pride, če svetlobo bliskavice ovira sončna zaslonka ali cev objektiva, odvisna pa je od goriščne razdalje

ali razdalje fotografiranja.

• Vinjetiranje lahko preprečite, tako da ne uporabite sončne zaslonke.

• Če uporabljate bliskavico, vgrajeno v fotoaparat, je najmanjša razdalja fotografiranja 0,6 m.

Vgrajeno bliskavico fotoaparatov D100 in D70 je mogoče uporabiti z goriščno razdaljo 20 mm ali večjo. Pri goriščni razdalji 18 mm se pojavi vinjetiranje.

Skrb za objektiv

• Pazite, da ne umažete ali poškodujete priključkov CPE !.

• Objektiv očistite z izpihovalnikom s ščetko. Umazanijo in madeže odstranite z mehko, suho bombažno krpo ali robčkom za čiščenje objektiva,

namočenim v etanol (alkohol) ali čistilo za objektiv. Brišite s krožnimi gibi od sredine proti zunanjemu robu, pri čemer pazite, da ne puščate sledi in

da se ne dotaknete drugih delov objektiva.

• Za čiščenje objektiva ne uporabljajte razredčila ali bencina; tako ga lahko poškodujete, povzročite požar ali ogrozite svoje zdravje.

• Za zaščito sprednjega elementa objektiva je na voljo brezbarvni filter (NC). Sprednji del objektiva lahko zaščitite tudi s sončno zaslonko 1.

• Ko je objektiv nameščen na fotoaparat, ne prijemajte sončne zaslonke.

• Kadar objektiva dlje časa ne nameravate uporabljati, ga shranite na hladno, suho mesto, kjer ne more priti do nastanka plesni.

Objektiv hranite tudi stran od neposredne sončne svetlobe ali kemikalij, kot je naftalin.

• Objektiv se ne sme zmočiti ali celo pasti v vodo; to bi povzročilo rjavenje in okvaro.

• Nekateri deli objektiva so iz ojačane plastike. Da bi preprečili poškodbe, objektiva nikoli ne puščajte na mestih z visoko temperaturo.
