Ready the camera.

Frame the photograph.

Hold the camera securely with both

hands, being careful not to obstruct

the lens, AF-assist illuminator, or

microphone. Rotate the camera as

shown at lower right when taking pic-

tures in “tall” (portrait) orientation.

Position your subject in the center of

the frame.

Using a Zoom Lens

Use the zoom ring to zoom in on the subject so that it fills a larger area

of the frame, or zoom out to increase the area visible in the final photo-

graph. During movie recording with the 1 NIKKOR VR 10–30mm

f/3.5–5.6 PD-ZOOM, the zoom rate is unaffected by the speed with

which the ring is rotated.
